Meet Dr Sally Coggins

An experienced veterinarian, Sally made the decision in 2010 to dedicate all her future professional endeavours to the health and well-being of cats - she's been on that purr-fect journey ever since!

In 2012, Sally achieved membership by examination of the Feline Chapter of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS), with whom she's since served as an examiner and tutor. Then, in 2020 Sally turned her focus to research, undertaking a PhD on the treatment of Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) at the University of Sydney.

Sally's research into this once devastating - now treatable - disease, has caught the attention of vets worldwide. She's recently returned from a world tour, delivering conference lectures in Australia, the UK, and the USA. She even earned the spotlight as the keynote speaker at Cornell University's Feline Symposium in 2023 - quite a big deal if you're into kitty health!

Sally has consummately added the role of educator to her already impressive skillset, aiding vets and cat lovers worldwide to up their FIP treatment game. You can hear her speaking on podcasts like ‘The Vet Vault’, read her contributions to The American Association of Feline Practitioners newsletters, and see her teaming up with international universities like UC Davis, Colorado State University, Bristol University, and The University of Munich for some ground-breaking research collabs!

There's a grounded side to this cat-loving supervet too though! Life is not complete without her big ginger boy Garfunkel who she credits with helping to write up her research, and Sally thrives on the relationships formed with other cat families in her clinical work.

Whether you're the research-reading type or not, the good news is that Sally's expertise is available straight from the source, to all of Evervet's cat families.  We're delighted that she's joined our team, ensuring all of our feline patients benefit from world class healthcare.  Sally is available for all your cat's needs - from routine check-ups to more complex medical investigations - on Mondays, at our cat-friendly Prahran location.
